Sonaze: One Secret 1

Sonic: I’m telling you Tails! I saw what I saw! I’m not saying it was real or anything, but it felt like she was actually there! I have a feeling that the Chaos Emeralds are trying to tell me something!

Tails: Haha! C’mon Sonic! Not even the Chaos Emeralds are powerful enough to do that! Let alone the Sol Emeralds in her dimension!

Sonic: Tails. C’mon. Me and Blaze both used our Emeralds at the same time. How can you call that impossible?

Tails: Because Sonic. The wavelengths always bounce away from each other! We may have came into contact with her world, but an actual physical connection between the Emeralds? I have to see it to believe it Sonic.

Sonic: Alright. Just consider for one second that it is actually possible I saw her. What would that actually mean?

Tails: The short version? Both of our worlds would come into contact with each other. The really short version: Reality would break itself apart.

Sonic stood there trying to process what his best friend just said.

Sonic: (flabbergasted) Reality would break itself apart, and that’s something you’re not really worried about if I didn’t see Blaze?

Sonic had a hint of frustration in his voice.

Tails: Look, I get it! But the chances of this even happening are a million-to-one shot! The only thing I’m gonna follow is the facts!

Sonic: Okay. I’ll trust that.

Tails: Good! Now if you don’t mind Sonic, I got something going on here. I’ll fill you in on the details later!

Sonic: (Saluting) See ya Tails.

In a gust of wind he had sped out! Heading in the direction towards the city where the Mobians were walking around, Sonic had tried to forget that evening from before! The image of Blaze had been fresh in his mind as she was sitting on the beach. His mind had went to places that had tried to deduce the reason behind his vision!

Sonic: (in thought) If that vision wasn’t in my mind...then why was Blaze out there on the coast? She looked a little distant in that moment. If I wasn’t going crazy, I’d say she was actually enjoying herself!

*WHIP*

The wind was chasing Sonic down as he ran past multiple buildings. His destination wasn’t far from where he was as he was seeking out the Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds himself. Knuckles may provide the answers Sonic is looking for.

Sonic: *Whistle!* Angel Island! Even though I’ve seen this island dozen of times, this snazzy view never fails to impress!

A stony stairway linked Mobius to the Island where Sonic and his friends could visit. Even though it’s a long ways away, the stairs presented no such challenge to the Blue Blur, who had already raced up the stairway.

The crumbled shrine wasn’t far from him as Knuckles sat in a meditative position. He opened his eyes as he felt Sonic’s presence next to him.

Knuckles: Sonic! Didn’t expect you to be here so early! (Thinking) Actually, no. I didn’t expect you to be here at all.

Sonic: Well, friends are always there when you do or don’t need them!

Knuckles: Well, since you’re here, you need to know something.

Sonic sped to Knuckles side and sat in the same position as he.

Sonic: What’s going on?

Sonic feared the worst. Everytime Knuckles sits him down, it’s bound to be bad news.

Knuckles: There is an imbalance between this world and another one. The energies are fluctuating with ours very heavily to the point where I can feel myself being pulled by an unexplained force!

Sonic: (Unsurprised) Lemme take a wild guess. The Chaos Emeralds are involved.

Knuckles: (Irritated) This is serious Sonic! If this continues on, then our reality may very well be in danger!

Sonic: Let me take another guess. I have to find out what’s causing this to happen.

Knuckles: (Hand on Sonic’s shoulder) You my friend already know what’s causing the problem.

Sonic: Alrighty then! Another adventure awaits! I had a feeling something was going wrong. I’m going to go get Tails!

Knuckles stops Sonic in his tracks.

Knuckles: Be careful Sonic. This is something that's bigger than the both of us, and I'm not sure if you can handle it with the powers of the Emeralds alone.

Sonic: C'mon Knuckles. Don't be such a downer! Besides...When have I ever done things like this alone?

Knuckles gave him a worrying look.

Sonic: *Sigh*! (Giving a thumbs up) No worries Knuckles. We can handle anything that comes our way! (In running position)

Sonic sped back down the steps, running faster than he ever had in his life! The excitement of another adventure always motivated him to break his top speed! Zooming down the steps, the hedgehog had found himself thinking a lot more about the Princess than usual. The way she ruled her Kingdom had reminded him of the royal duties he still holds to the people in Mobius.

Sonic: Nothing I can’t handle!

The sound of feet hitting the ground grew lighter and faster with every step that Sonic took! On his way to the workshop Sonic noticed something a little different about himself. He began to look at things differently, as his mind began wrapping around his vision of Blaze on the beach once more. He couldn’t stop thinking about that moment when she looked at him. It was as if she actually saw him standing there as he looked out across the horizon of the Sunset.

It must’ve been real. It felt real. It FELT real to him, but there’s no way to explain it other than the fabled Chaos and Sol Emeralds using their powers.

Sonic: It’s gotta be because of the Chaos-!

*WHOOSH!*

Sonic: WHOOAUGH!

Sonic was sucked into a spontaneous portal as he lost his bearings as he tipped over into the darkened gateway!

Sonic: What in the world?! Where am I going-?!

Sonic managed to control his tumbling as he looked around him! As he was free-falling he noticed the portal looked awfully familiar! Though he couldn’t place it.

*ZAP!*

The exit to the portal opened as Sonic was falling through! The view of the sand below him was coming fast! Sonic didn’t have time to react as he braced for impact!

Sonic: GERONIMOOO-!

*PSHHH!*

All Sonic could see was darkness as he tasted the sandy beach from the fall.

Sonic: Mrrfrgl!!

Sonic laid his hands on the ground as he was readying himself to pull his head from the sand!

Sonic: (Pushing himself up) (One) Onfrgll, (Two) Twrgll, (Three!) THRGWL!

*THUNK!*

Sonic managed to pull himself out of the sand. He staggered back as he felt a headache transpiring.

Sonic: (Rubbing his head) Ow! Heheh! That was not fun! Now where am I?!

Sonic looked around. He noticed the view from the beach looked oddly different from the one he stood in before. More trees had covered the backcountry than last time, and the pathway he always took back into the city wasn’t there from before!

Sonic: This is way too trippy! For my taste anyway.

Sonic looked around one more time just to make sure he wasn’t losing his mind! But no! He wasn’t! Though the sights seemed different - it all looked way too familiar to him! He knew that he wasn’t home, but he felt that he was somewhere else!

Sonic: (in thought) This feels way too familiar. I better find a way home before-!

Blaze: Sonic?

He turned around as he gazed in bewilderment at the sight before him! A sight that would set off the adventure of a lifetime for both Heroes.
